My journey to become a Personal Trainer
I was super skinny growing up. Until I saw the light.
I never thought I’d be confident enough to tell people this story, but now is the time.
So here it goes
I was born in a small village. I Always had hope and love for sports as a kid growing up. I am glad that I had a loving family who supported me all the way through to even now writing this article.
But I was never happy because of my lack of self-confidence, I would always compare myself to others. Always though I had one wish - that I could look jacked and have a physique that turns heads at the beach.
I Remember getting rejected a number of times approaching girls.
Now don’t raise your eyebrows, it doesn’t matter. After all, who doesn’t want to chat with a hot chick?
So why the hell am I telling you all of this?
Because training was the only way out of the pain. It was the single biggest factor that helped me overcome self-doubt, lack of self-confidence and become the person I am today.
It helped me gain more confidence to act how I wanted to.
I started consistently training 13 years ago at the age of 19 and never looked back.
Early in my training days, I never thought I would come this far, but I had a vision to improve my lifestyle through fitness.
All I had to do was start my journey.
So, I joined the local old school bodybuilding gym, hoping one day I would look better and perform my best.
I didn’t have any clue on how to train. All I knew was to show up at the gym every day and eat every 2+ hours to get the best results.
I went from 45 kg to 55 kg within five months. But I didn’t realise I was storing a lot of body fat.
One day I was flexing in a vest after bench pressing. The owner of the gym laughed at me and mocked me. I was angry, humiliated and ashamed. So I quit that gym, but that didn’t stop me from going to the gym and learning about exercise and nutrition.
He ignited the fire inside me which helped me to build the physique and confidence that I always desired.
I hired a coach to get expert help and got muscular and as lean as humanly possible.
So far, I have done two photoshoots having 5% body fat with more muscle in my frame. Despite all these fitness phases of feeling too skinny or too weak and fat, look where I am now…
Nowadays I couldn’t care less about the man who laughed at me or about having a fear of getting rejected by the girl at the bar.
Most importantly I fell in love with fitness, so I ditched my microbiology course to study sports science.
I can clearly say fitness didn’t only improve my physique and confidence. It helped me find my passion for life.
So, I decided to make this my life and help others make the same transition I did
going through similar.
I’ve coached hundreds of professional men to build their dream physique so that
They can be confident and perform their best in their professional and personal lives.
I love showing my clients how they can work out while having a life outside fitness. Eating the foods they enjoy and spending time with loved ones and having hobbies that make their life worth living.
For some reason, I relate to them as they have a lot of similar interests to me.
That’s my story. What’s yours?
